About the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Me thinks it's FWD, it looks a lot like many of the FWD rally cars out there, one wheel up in the air, the 3 others on the ground, the way it slides around, ... What do you guys think ?

I think it's gonna have to be AWD if Ford wants people to spend the extra money opposed to the ST. Otherwise people will think they can tune their way to the same power for cheaper.

It should be AWD, but I'm not convinced it will be.

I've seen Evos do this too.

Looks like FWD to me. As Brian alluded to, I wonder how they're going to make the RS that much faster and more desirable than the ST. Maybe that's why they're blowing out the current STs for FiST prices...

But does the Focus have the space for a driveshaft? If it doesn't they'd have to do a lot of modification to the car.

I went to an article that said ford confirmed FWD bu the link took me to a new article saying it might not be FWD. edite my original comment.

It was tripoding. It's FWD

The 2015 might. The 2014 didn't. But this could also be a sign that an AWD option is coming for the lesser Focus models as well.

The Escape/Kuga floor pan/platform is heavily shared with the Focus and has the space for a rear propshaft so I don't see why it wouldn't be too difficult to add it to the Focus. That being said I'm a tech not an engineer lols

Gonna go with FWD as to not be let down. If it's AWD we're all happy.

FWD. I don't see them building a S3/Golf R rival since AWD is expensive and the FoST is known for being a bargin plus with the Civic Type R incoming they probably want to get into the FWD Ring record contest going on between Seat and Renault.

If I had to chose I'd go with AWD. FWD just make so little sense to me.

What TFSIVTEC says, the Focus and Escape/Kuga share a platform. The Escape is available with AWD, so there is no reason that it couldn't be added to the Focus without too much difficulty.
As for your question, they have pretty much said that it will have AWD and I am inclined to believe them. The RS is taking direct aim at the Subaru STI and VW Golf R. Having AWD gives Ford the credibility to say that the RS is a direct competitor to those vehicles and gives them separation from the ST model which helps to justify a significant price jump from the ST to the RS.

Well of course the FoRS will be more expensive, it will be more in line with the WRX/STI and Golf R, all which cost quite a lot more than the FoST.

They'll make room if they have to.
